BV Borgo del Principe

BV Borgo del Principe is a lovely garden village hotel. Most of the rooms are located within separate 4-room buildings scattered around the grounds. All of them are above sea level and located in a lush garden, so there is no sea view. There are plenty of birds chirping away though! The hotel has its own beach with free sunloungers and umbrellas, as well as a small pool, which is open when the lifeguard is on duty. The staff at the hotel are very nice and helpful, special shout out to the cleaning staff who are super hard working and always willing to help! Most of the staff doesn't speak much English (they try though!), but that is probably because the hotel caters to guests from all over Europe, so I bet they do speak German and French etc :) If you need to have a conversation in English, find Bianca on the front desk, she's great and will definitely help!!! The food at the hotel is exquisite, I loved the evening meals, there was plenty to choose from every night, and the menu changed constantly. If you like Italian cuisine, this is the place to visit! Lunches were also great, we always left with full bellies and smiles on our faces. The only thing that's not so great is the hotel's location in a small town of Zambrone, which doesn't really have a strip to walk on or any shops apart from a lovely gelateria and a local grocery shop around a 15-20 minutes walk from the hotel. But if your aim is to spend a week on a beach or by the pool interspersed with delicious food, then you're good to go!

5 stars for the territory - hotel is located in a beautiful garden, with a well maintained lawn. Beach near the hotel is stony, but sandy part starts 100 meters away, nice underwater reef is located in that part so don't forget your snorkel. Adult and kids swimming pools are nice too. 3 stars for the rooms - they are old and looks like were renovated long time ago. Stain spots on curtains, mirrors and walls are a normal situation situation here. Doors of shower cabin were hard to close and open. 2 stars for food - same not-tasty dishes every day. Some dishes looked like prepared from recycled yesterday products. And that's main reason why I'd not return there again, as tasty Italian food is one of important reasons for travelling to Italy. In general looks like hotel is targeted on Italians who come there by car to spend a week-end at sea as personnel mostly is not speaking english.
